A professional seminar featuring presentations from Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Derisk Geomining Consultants was held in Singapore on Thursday 6 December 2018.  The topics covered included a summary of the recent changes to the SGX listing rules for mineral, oil and gas (MOG) companies as well as a general presentation on critical mineral commodities.

Foong Chong Lek (SGX) provided an update on the rule amendments for MOG companies that were released in August 2018 aimed at simplifying both the initial listing requirements and ongoing compliance requirements for MOG companies.

Mark Berry (Derisk) gave a presentation on critical mineral commodities, covering the criteria used to define critical minerals, lists produced by different jurisdictions, and a case study on cobalt, widely recognised around the world as a critical mineral commodity.

Following the presentation, a Q&A session further explored aspects of both presentations, including important ramifications of the SGX rule changes and conjecture on supply and demand issues of various critical mineral commodities.
